Mt. Rainier Challenge, Fundraising “Climb for a Cure”
Andrew has been an athlete and explorer all his life, a true passion for nature and hiking to many places he visits around the world.
In 2009, after nine months of training, Andrew took on Mt Rainier. But he didn’t just set out to climb a mountain. He wanted to use the opportunity to do more, and partnered with St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital to raise money and awareness.
Every challenge Andrew faced on the mountain was nothing compared to the those that the courageous children at St. Jude’s face every day. Their courage inspired him to keep moving and to climb to new heights… while helping to find a cure for cancer. “Climb for a Cure” raised $10,000 for St. Jude’s Hospital.
One of the U.S. jewels. A monster of a mountain, that pulls you in and tests your mind, body and spirit to reach her summit. Along the way, the journey is the most memorable part. What it took to get you there, and each step along the way. You get to go deep inside and work through things in your life while navigating your way up the mountain. So much that Mt. Rainier brought me back for a second climb 2 years later. As the new year approaches 2022, Andrew has plans to climb Mt. Kilimangaro and finish up with a Safari.
